REGRET

Proof of Regret

A Manifesto

Somewhere, right now, a man is watching a chart he no longer owns.

He sold at 2x. It did 40x.He tells himself he took profit. He did not take profit. He took a screenshot.

This is for him.

I. Every green candle is built on someone's exit.

There is no runner without a seller. Every diamond hand who made it was subsidized by a man who couldn't take it anymore at 1.8x. He gave his tokens to the chart so the chart could go on without him.

He is the unnamed co-founder of your gains. He is the liquidity. He is most of us.

Nobody thanks the liquidity.

II. We do not judge. We measure.

Judgment is cheap. Anyone can call you a paperhand.Measurement is expensive. It requires a formula, a timestamp, a price, and the courage to look.

So we built the formula. We read the chain. We find the exact block where you let go, and the exact block where it hurt the most. We subtract.

The number that remains is not an insult. It is a fact.We call it Proof of Regret.

III. Regret is the only asset that always goes up.

It has no supply cap. It does not need a listing. It compounds while you sleep and it pays no dividends.

Bitcoin has halvings. Regret has anniversaries.

You cannot sell regret. But we will pay you for it.

IV. Proof of Work rewards electricity. Proof of Stake rewards patience. Proof of Regret rewards the truth.

The truth that you were there. The truth that you had it.The truth that you let it go for a reason that felt like wisdom for eleven minutes.

Consensus mechanisms reward what a network values. This network values honesty about the one thing every trader lies about.

V. HODL is a religion for people who were right.

We are the church of the people who were almost right.

We do not preach holding. Holding is easy when the chart agrees with you. Anyone can be a saint in a bull market. We are interested in the moment the hand opens — the small, human, entirely reasonable moment when a person decides that enough is enough, and the market disagrees by a factor of forty.

That moment is not weakness. That moment is the most honest thing that happens on a blockchain.

VI. Every chart has a ghost.

The ghost is the price it reached after you left. It follows you. It shows up in your feed. It is mentioned at dinner by a friend who did not sell.

We put the ghost on the chart, next to your exit, so you can finally look at it in daylight. Most ghosts are smaller than you remember. Some are not.

The ghost is not there to haunt you. It is there to be counted.

VII. The paperhand is not a villain.

We will not use the ugly words. We will not call you what the timeline calls you. The timeline is written by people who got lucky and mistook it for character.

You sold because you had rent. You sold because you had been burned before. You sold because the candle was red for four minutes and four minutes is a long time when it's your money.

None of this is stupid. All of it is human. We count it anyway.

LIVE REGRET

Quiet on the floor. The next exit prints here.

VIII. We pay the regret. Every week.

Every trade of $REGRET pays a 2% tax. The tax does not go to us.

Three quarters of it goes to the Pot. One quarter buys $REGRET back from the market and burns it, at hours nobody can predict, in a place we call the Furnace.

On Sunday, the Round closes. On Tuesday, the ghosts settle. On Wednesday, the Final Table is paid — in ETH, to your wallet, progressively, the way poker pays: the deepest regret takes the most, and the table goes down from there.

No claim. No form. No dance. You already did the hard part. You sold.

IX. Hold one thing.

To be paid, you must hold $REGRET when the Round closes.

Yes. We see it too. A prize for letting go, gated by not letting go.It is the only irony we will ask you to carry.

Paperhand everything. Except this.

X. This is not financial advice.

This is financial autopsy.

We open the wallet. We find the cause of death. We write it on a receipt, we stamp it red, and we hand it back to you with a small amount of money and a large amount of respect.

Sold too early?Prove it.

— Proof of Regret. Robinhood Chain. Written by people who sold early too.
